This weekend I saw Shrek the Musical with Beth and Guba. Although I’ve already seen it twice on Broadway, I just had to see it again. The play was fantastic, but the thing that really won me over was one special couple that I spotted: An 80 year old couple holding hands on their way to see Shrek together. Perfect.
Here are the Crew Leaders!
They are such a fantastic bunch. I see such a distinct light in each one of them, and they inspire me in different ways. Not only are they inspiring, but they’re funny too! (Can’t you tell?) :)
This is my Crew!
I Co-lead a group of Sophomore girls in faith-based discussion every week, and I can truly say that being a Crew Leader has taught me so much about myself and those around me. As a college student, it isn’t easy to swim against the current of our peers and live out our faith. I’m so proud of my girls and their constant desire to learn more about themselves, their faith, and their relationship with God. I hope I can inspire them as much as they have inspired me!
I’m in my Senior Year of the Honors Program at my school. Know what that means? Time to write my Honors Thesis. (Dun dun dun!)
I’m choosing to write about interactive billboards, and how they engage the consumer, rather than cause them flip the station, fast forward through commercials, or “x out” of the ads that they’re so accustomed to being bombarded with.
The paper is a work in progress, but it will definitely be something to be proud of when it’s done!
Since I have no idea where to start this new blog, why not in a corn maze? Life can kind of feel like a corn maze at times, especially when you can’t find the exit in the midst of all the confusion. It seems like the harder you try to find your way out, the more lost you become. You’re trapped in the maze’s twists and turns, and sooner or later you wish you had a magical wand or some sort of teleportation device to transport you out of the craziness.
After about 40 minutes of trial and error, my friends and I decided to ask for help. An employee in the “watch tower” had been watching us in amusement as we tried like mice to escape from this maze. He smiled when we asked for help, and instructed us on how to exit. We were out in no time!
Isn’t life easier when you ask for help? God has all of the answers to life’s confusion, just as the man in the watch tower did. God is watching us go about our lives as we try to figure things out on our own, but when we realize that we’re nothing without his guidance, we turn to Him. God smiles and says, “I thought you’d never ask!” and points us where we need to go. It really is as simple as that :)
